The Murphy Guest House Bed and Breakfast is pleased to offer a Quilt Garden Special in celebration of this wonderful display of creativity and beauty. Check back for more information.

From Memorial Day - October 1
100,000+ glorious blooms , 18 super-sized murals at 12 locations, and 18 gigantic gardens all planted in the heart of Northern Indiana's Amish Country. 36 unique designs, all bursting with color, each with its own special story, all placed along the nationally-recognized Heritage Trail Route.

Imagine huge living quilts packed with 100,000 plus blooms. 18 quilt gardens and 18 hand-painted quilt art murals blanket Amish Country in a colorful patchwork linked by the roads that form the Heritage Trail.

The Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail honors the artistry of quilts with the fabric of flowers carefully pieced and "sewn" into place to create a vibrant tapestry. Each quilt garden and quilt mural has its own intricate pattern, many are original designs, and each has its own unique story.

The gardens, together with hand painted murals, grace our seven welcoming communities in colorful displays that can be enjoyed absolutely free from May 30 through October 1. There's nothing else like it!

2011 brings an inspiring addition to our Quilt Gardens Tour pallet: the "Hope Blooms" pattern.

The pattern, designed exclusively for Vera Bradley, will be realized in a canvas of colorful annuals at Elkhart's Wellfield Botanic Garden and an original quilt wall hanging by master quilter Diana Bennett. All are part of Hope along the Heritage Trail, a partnership with the Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail and the Vera Bradley foundation for Breast Cancer. Together, we'll plant the seeds of education, funding and collaboration in the fight against breast cancer.
